DATA CENTRE OPERATIONS MANAGER
Overall Purpose:
The Data Centre Manager will provide day-to-day oversight and management of the extensive London collocation facilities supporting critical customer services that leverage the core product and service portfolio. The Data Centre Manager will take the lead on the local design, implementation, and maintenance of the critical infrastructure systems and components with the support of internal technical resources, external contractors and strategic sourcing partners.
Responsibilities include:
*To manage customer facility related requests, planned maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical engineering infrastructure and life safety systems at the London sites supporting bespoke data centre/collocation facility based products, security access control, and associated telecom infrastructure components within these facilities.
*Ensure 100% availability of all critical infrastructure systems within the technical facilities and undertake strategic planning for required shutdowns and maintenance activities.
*Ensure all critical systems comply with the relevant statutory legislation, Health and Safety, BS EN Standards and safe working practices both local and national.
*Oversee all preventative maintenance activities within each facility\'s critical infrastructure per defined global maintenance standards and ensure accurate records are maintained and updated in support of quality assurance and auditing requirements.
*Provide weekly/monthly reports regarding staffing levels, budgeting, key performance indicators (MTTR, installation performance, scheduled maintenance performance, etc.).
*Able to manage specialist contractor\'s performance through effective contract definition in order to meet customer SLA\'s and exceed customer expectations.
Experience and Knowledge required:
*5 to 10 years experience in data centre environment that would include at least five years of management tenure.
*Thorough knowledge of critical infrastructure components that include, but are not restricted to, HVAC systems, high and low voltage power systems, UPS systems, DC plant, fire suppression systems, and security access control systems.
*Direct experience in supplier management protocols that include contract development, contract execution, service level definition and management, and cost analysis.
*Practical \'hands-on\' experience of establishing and managing major strategic sourcing agreements for the support and maintenance of data centre infrastructure and associated services.
*Ability to effectively manage a diverse range of complex assignments with stringent timescales that requires the use of experience, innovation and judgment, plus the proper utilization of technician resources.
